Antonio Páez has recently created the truchet R package, which makes it super easy to create Truchet tiles and to arrange them in beautiful mosaics. Some of these Truchet tiles remind me a lot the work of Athos Bulcão, a famous artist who created some of the most iconic tile murals in Brasília, Brazil.

One of things I really liked about the truchet package is that it can also be used to create Truchet mosaic versions of photos and images, like this beautiful Frida created by Antonio Páez (code here).
