geobr is a computational package (available in R and Python) to download official spatial data sets of Brazil. The package includes a wide range of geospatial data in geopackage format (like shapefiles but better), available at various geographic scales and for various years with harmonized attributes, projection and topology (see detailed list of available data sets below).

The new R version of geobr v1.7.0 now simultaneously stores the data on two independent servers. In case one server connection fails, geobr will automatically download the data from the second server. This means the package is much more stable and less vulnerable to instabilities in data server connection.
